Job description

This position is responsible for support to the college’s computer users as well as managing, maintaining and upgrading the web-based services and related systems. The position also designs and develops new applications software on responsible systems. This is an entry level position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide support to administrative computer users
  • Application software:
  • Modify and maintain all software supplied by outside vendors
  • Modify and maintain all software developed by ITS staff
  • Design and develop new applications software
  • Develop and maintain relevant documentation
  • Support from outside vendors
  • Assist Systems Programmer in coordinating support from Jenzabar on administrative software problems
  • Assist Manager of Administrative Computing in coordinating support from Jenzabar on problems related to JICS
  • Other duties as assigned, + Sit

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and / or Experience - Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication / Language - Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Mathematical - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - None Required
  • Computer Literacy / General Office Equipment - Advanced literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.
