Job description

This position works directly with faculty, staff, and students to provide timely and effective Learning Management System (LMS) and other technical support; creates guides and resources for updates and common problem/solutions that arise with the LMS; works as part of the CLT team; develops and delivers training and resources; assists with LMS administrative tasks; investigates and trains with various technology for use in the classroom; works on various Academic Affairs and CLT initiatives as assigned; and improves the quality of instruction, online education, services, and innovative technology use at OCCC. Reports To Director of Center for Learning and Teaching What position(s) reports to this position? None. Minimum Education/Experience Associate degree, Quarterly compliance training as assigned by institution Work Hours Fall/Spring hours Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. & Summer hours Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed in response to any technical issues, training needs, and/or changes to the CLT’s operating hours to continue to meet the growing online support needs of faculty, staff, and students. Requirements

Minimum (2) years’ work experience in an educational setting working with computer software, applications, or hardware

Equivalency/Substitution: Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in lieu of degree for a total of four (4) years of experience. Easily learn and teach new skills and technologies Physical Demands/Working Conditions PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is sedentary work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: This person in this position may need to lift 25 lbs., move computer equipment, and/or squat/kneel. This position requires heavy computer use on a daily basis.

Work is performed in a relatively safe and secure work environment. Work is performed during regular office hours; may occasionally work evenings or weekends. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum (2) years’ of work experience in an institution of higher education working with computer software, applications, or hardware and providing LMS support, technical support, and/or training
