Job description
- Balance among architecture, engineering, and support that changes as projects and priorities dictate.
- Worthwhile efforts that provide a constant source of non-repetitive challenges, with no long-term boredom.
- Owning network systems and projects and follow them through part or all their lifecycles.
- High OPTEMPO - individuals must be able to self-manage task lists based on communicated priorities
What You’ll Do
- Architect, engineer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise networks (multi-vendor but Cisco-heavy, multi-site, dense with technology). This includes network security.
- Lead root cause analysis for outages and performance issues.
- Engaging teams with other expertise on relevant projects and systems.
- Communicate issues clearly to teammates and leadership and collaborate on resolution.
- Mentor less-senior engineers and technicians.
Tech Knowledge / Skills
- Deep understanding of layer 4 and below
- Expertise and experience with an array of the hardware/software that are primarily associated with those layers: Route/switch, Firewalls, VPNs, SDN, and plenty more. Depth and breadth are both desired, but there is no expectation of ubiquity (or necessarily Ubiquiti)
Requirements
- 8+ years network engineering experience in secure/cleared environments
- Active TS clearance
- Professional certification required; Expert-level preferred (CCIE, JNCIE, etc)
- Experience with progressive responsibilities that amount to “senior”
- DoD 8140 compliance required
- The likely salary range for this position is $140,000-$220,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, and contractual agreements and could fall outside of this range.
