Data Visualization Analyst

The Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve decision making in the organization., * Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes

• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
• Combine models through ensemble modeling
• Present information using data visualization techniques
• Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
• The analyze and identify trends to allow the organization to make decisions based on the data

This requires a highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning and research., * Experience in data mining

• Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
• Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
• Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop), * Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, keen attention to detail, flexibility in adapting to changing environment, timely follow-through, and a commitment to learning new skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills and the willingness to be proactive and take initiative are required.
• The ability to build and use effective working relationships and to work independently as an effective team player are required.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
• Frequently moves standard office equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work indoor conditions 90% of the time.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours required, as required by business need., * 7-10yrs of proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology discipline or related field or equivalent work experience directly within functional area

Security Clearance

• Must possess a Public Trust.
