Job description

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you’ll design, automate, and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms that enable thousands of employees and millions of student interactions every year., This is a senior engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, building cloud-native solutions, mentoring engineers, and driving automation across modern AWS environments. You’ll partner closely with software engineers, security, platform engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver resilient, highly available cloud infrastructure., * Design, implement, and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise-scale applications and services.

  • Develop cloud architecture roadmaps that improve scalability, resiliency, security, and operational excellence.
  • Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using modern automation practices.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration management, deployments, and operational workflows.
  • Design and maintain highly available compute, networking, storage, and identity services across AWS.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions that proactively identify operational issues.
  • Optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, capacity, and cloud costs.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that accelerate software delivery while maintaining security and compliance.
  • Partner with software engineering teams to enable DevOps practices and self-service infrastructure.
  • Design and support cloud-native architectures using containers and serverless technologies.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement secure-by-design cloud infrastructure and IAM best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across distributed systems and cloud services.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and architectural guidance.
  • Mentor Cloud and DevOps Engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical leadership for cloud modernization initiatives., * Thinks like an engineer and automates repetitive work.

  • Leads through collaboration and technical mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of systems, infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS engineering experience supporting production workloads.
  • Strong experience administering Linux environments.
  • Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant cloud architectures.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Strong scripting or programming experience using Python, Node, or Bash
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple engineering teams.

Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirements at the discretion of the hiring manager.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Grade: Technical 410 Pay Range: $143,700.00 - $222,700.00, Full-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.
