Job description

This position reports to the Director of Information Technology. The Cyber Security Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the computer systems and networks. This includes implementing and maintaining security measures, conducting assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents and breaches. This position will also be responsible for educating employees on best practices for cyber security, developing and implementing policies and procedures to protect sensitive information, and working with cyber insurance providers. Applicants should have a strong skillset in networking and firewall technologies, and be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to these systems. The Cyber Security Administrator will be responsible for managing projects independently and also securing grant opportunities to support the ongoing improvement of the government’s cyber security infrastructure. The position is also responsible for monitoring traffic and alerts, and for writing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan. In addition, they will serve as a backup for the network administrator and manage and maintain anti-virus and EDR systems. Duties & Responsibilities Ensuring the security and integrity of the government’s computer systems and networks Implementing and maintaining security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software Conducting security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities Responding to security incidents and breaches as they arise Educating employees on best practices for cyber security Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the security of sensitive information Working with cyber insurance providers, Work is performed under the direction of the Information Technology Director Conditions Of Employment The selected candidate will be pre-employment required to obtain, at their own expense, 3 forms of clearance, including: PA State Police criminal history record check PA child abuse history FBI criminal history background check including finger printing

Requirements

Having a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, as well as experience in cyber security and network administration Having strong skills in networking and firewall technologies and being able to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to these systems Being able to manage projects independently and having experience securing grants Monitoring traffic and alerts and writing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan Serving as a backup for the network administrator and managing and maintaining anti-virus and EDR systems The above statements reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
