Job description

The Product Owner is responsible for executing the product development life cycle (PDLC) for identified roadmap items. This includes feature definition prior to development including: competitive research, gathering and documenting product requirements, collaborating with UI/UX designers and software engineers to design the solution, scoping and prioritizing features, creating project plans, and writing user stories for the Software Engineering Team to execute. Once a feature is in development, answer Software Engineering Team questions and clarify requirements when needed. After development is completed, assist in acceptance testing and lead rollout planning and coordination. During rollout, keep internal stakeholders such as sales and customer success informed of upcoming product enhancements, and work with Customer Success and Marketing to inform customers., * Understand customer needs by talking to customers and prospects, getting feedback from Sales and Customer Success, reviewing feature ideas

  • Perform directed market and competitive research
  • Meet with customers and business stakeholders to gather product requirements
  • Work with user interface designers and software engineers to design and build software features on the product roadmap that customers will find engaging, exciting and useful
  • Accurately and clearly communicate feature design and requirements to the Software Engineering Team through epics, user stories and acceptance criteria. Ensure that the Software Engineering Team has everything they need at the beginning of the sprint.
  • Shepherd features through design and development to ensure on-time delivery, following-up with others or escalating as appropriate to meet deadlines
  • Work daily with developers to clarify and refine requirements as needed
  • Communicate release schedule and contents to the wider organization and customers
  • Collaborate with Customer Success in developing training materials and release notices for new features and updates
  • Communicate the product development schedule to leadership; especially unforeseen changes to the planned schedule
  • Analyze product usage data to measure feature adoption
  • Perform user acceptance testing
  • Prioritize defects and schedule work

  • BS or BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in business analysis or product management for a software product
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong creative problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Experience with web and mobile development technologies
  • Ability to pick up technical and business concepts quickly
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Strong understanding of technical requirements, specifications, and documentation skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, innovative, collaborative, and agile environment, * Familiar with agile environment and the SCRUM process with hands-on experience working with a team of developers
  • Experience using Jira
  • Experience in building operations or facility management
