Cybersecurity Analyst

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. The Candidate will support enterprise cybersecurity operations focused on protecting sensitive information, strengthening data security controls, and responding to security events across a hybrid enterprise environment. This role partners with technical and business teams to monitor threats, investigate incidents, support compliance initiatives, and enhance data governance and AI security practices., * Monitor, administer, and improve enterprise data protection controls, including DLP and AI data security initiatives.

• Investigate security alerts, insider risk events, and potential data exposure incidents while documenting findings and supporting incident response activities.
• Participate in vendor security assessments, third-party risk reviews, and remediation tracking.
• Support cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and control validation efforts.
• Prepare security reports, metrics, and recommendations while partnering with business and technical teams to address cybersecurity risks.
• Recommend and support improvements to security policies, procedures, and data governance practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• CompTIA Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or a comparable security certification is required.
• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity operations, including threat monitoring, incident response, and risk analysis.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Insider Risk Management, and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions.
• Experience investigating security alerts, analyzing sensitive data access and movement, documenting findings, and escalating incidents according to established procedures.
• Knowledge of data governance principles, data classification, and secure data handling practices.
• Experience supporting security audits, compliance activities, and cybersecurity risk assessments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Cybersecurity Analyst:

• Microsoft SC-100, SC-200, CEH, Associate CISSP, or other advanced cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience with AI-focused security technologies and DSPM platforms supporting AI environments.
• Experience refining DLP policies, insider risk detection, or enterprise data governance initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure security, identity and access management, Conditional Access, and security automation or scripting.
