Senior Developer

IntroductionEvolve Energy is currently undertaking a strategic digital transformation, with the express need to improve capacity and throughput across all areas of the business and to accelerate growth over the next five years. As part of this initiative, we have a number of streams of activity underway, across legacy transformation, digital transformation roadmap, internal build and external adoption and integration. The Senior Developer will work closely alongside the multi-discipline squad (BAs; Developers; QA) in an Agile way to deliver business value via updates to existing platforms, developing new platforms and integrating with internal and existing functions. Role PurposeYou will be responsible for assisting BAs with story shaping; developing quality, robust solutions; supporting the QA during testing and facilitating the build out of continuous integration/delivery pipelines. The development team is a strong unit and are pivotal to the success of our digital transformation journey. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our platforms and processes, working closely with Head of Business Technology, development and infrastructure colleagues. Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Delivery Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of quality, robust solutionsParticipate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to the success of the development team and our wider business colleaguesDeliver tested, working solutions and support the development team in QA and deployment activitiesUnderstand the legacy and digital transformation landscape at Evolve and effectively contribute to that, leading some initiatives where appropriateLiaise with development and infrastructure colleagues with regards to continuous improvement activities, proposing solutions where appropriateWorking closely with Agile Development Team colleaguesAssisting colleagues in Refinement/3 Amigos sessions to ensure user stories are ready for development in an efficient mannerDelivering quality, robust and tested software solutionsSupporting QAs in the timely resolution of bugs arising from changesContributing to technical roadmaps, proof of concepts and the development of our service orientated architectureLeading spike investigations into technical, process and delivery challenges

Personal skills and experienceExtensive experience in working as a Senior Developer in a commercial environmentConversion of user stories to software applications and components to exacting standards with baked in test coverageExperience in service-orientated architecture, API interfaces and Azure service bus backboneAbility to contribute to technical architecture discussions and to influence decisions to achieve the stated aimProven record of work in Agile squads with full contribution to ceremoniesPostman/JMeter testing and automationStrong skills inC#.netBlazorHtml, CSS, JavascriptAzure Functions, Service Bus, Ci/Cd PipelinesSQL Server; Entity Framework (Core)Asp .NET. Asp .NET CoreWeb APIMvcStrong Object Orientated development, The ideal candidateYou will be experienced Agile practitioner and passionate about delivering value and confident enough to identify issues and propose solutions pro-actively. Experience working in the Utilities sector would be advantageous but is by no means essential. Scrum Master and real-world experience of CRM implementation (either external or internal) would be desirable as would previous exposure to Docker or other containerisation technologies.
