Job description

In our team you will provide cybersecurity support to help secure operations of the Galileo satellite constellation. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-security space environment, applying cybersecurity skills to real operational systems used in one of Europe’s most important satellite programmes.

Your main responsabilites will be:

  • Establish a baseline for the usage of different network protocols by analyzing system log extractions.
  • Develop and document procedures for log extraction and analysis.
  • Provide cybersecurity expertise from an operations perspective to support modifications to existing ground segment elements.
  • Conduct routine checks on network security status and configuration based on ISO 27001 standards.
  • Establish and maintain a configuration baseline for the system. Perform offline trend analysis with Splunk on extracted logs.
  • Assess and analyze the system hardening status.
  • Support the integration, testing, and handover process from equipment developers to operations, validating the closure of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate the impact of new configurations on operational products and processes.

Requirements

We are looking for cybersecurity engineers with experience on Windows and Linux hardening. Main requirements are:

  • Eligible for Security Clearance up to Secret level. EU Citizenship is essential.
  • English language skills at C1 level, with the ability to understand and produce technical documents and presentations.
  • Knowledge in Windows and Linux OS hardening.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Practical experience in cybersecurity, internships or student projects

Also it would be great if you had experience on:

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell
  • Splunk or similar log analysis tools
  • ISO 27001 or security compliance frameworks
  • Secure software development or Agile environments
  • Django or similar frameworks
  • Space systems, satellite operations or critical infrastructure
