Unix / Infrastructure Administrator

Overview: <p>Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Unix/Network Administrator in Nashville, TN. This is a permanent opportunity that is Hybrid and offers outstanding benefits.</p> <p>We are looking for a talented individual who is proficient in Unix systems administration and networking to fulfill a unique role that encompasses both areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our Unix-based systems, with a focus on Oracle Solaris and Linux (including Ubuntu), as well as handling networking and infrastructure tasks as needed.</p> Entity of type com.vizirecruiter.common.domain.model.Label with id: 7159 Entity of type com.vizirecruiter.common.domain.model.Label with id: 2173, Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage and administer Unix-based systems, including Oracle Solaris, Linux, and Ubuntu, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.</li> <li>Install, configure, and maintain Unix servers and applications, including patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting as necessary.</li> <li>Monitor system performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving issues to maintain high availability and efficiency.</li> <li>Implement and maintain networking infrastructure, including Cisco routers and switches, to support our business operations.</li> <li>Troubleshoot server tasks and networking issues, diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance, and security issues as they arise.</li> <li>Perform general infrastructure tasks as needed, such as server provisioning, storage management, and backup and recovery procedures.</li> <li>Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to support project initiatives and resolve technical challenges.</li>

Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.</li> <li>Minimum of 5vyears of experience in Unix systems administration and networking roles.</li> <li>Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems, with hands-on experience in Oracle Solaris, Linux (various distributions), and Ubuntu.</li> <li>Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols, with experience working with Cisco routers and switches.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot server tasks and networking issues, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems.</li> <li>Experience with general infrastructure tasks, including server provisioning, storage management, and backup and recovery procedures.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.</li> <li>Certifications such as CCNA, RHCSA, or equivalent are a plus.</li> </ul>
