Java Software Engineer - Scrum Master

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior experience \n
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications \n
• 1+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team within a large-scale software development environment \n
• Significant experience with Web development and commonly used front-end tools and languages (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) \n
• Significant experience with unit testing tools such as Junit and Mockito \n
• Experience with RESTful API, JSON, XML, XSD \n
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot \n
• Experience with Linux \n
• Experience with version control systems such as Git or Subversion \n
• Experience with common development tools and IDEs (Eclipse, VS Code, etc.) \n
• Understanding of sound software development principles and practices \n
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing \n
• Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust (Tier 2) suitability determination \n

n This is a hybrid technical role where approximately \n50% of your time will be spent designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production software, while the remaining \n50% will be dedicated to serving as Scrum Master for an Agile development team. We are looking for experienced software engineers who enjoy facilitating Agile teams while remaining actively involved in coding, technical design, reviews, and software delivery. \n \n As a member of a Scaled Agile software development organization, you will contribute to the technical execution of a program that integrates proven, globally deployed technologies with modern cloud-native capabilities. You will work alongside cross-functional teams and technical leaders to deliver predictable outcomes in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. \n \n \n**Please note, this exciting position is currently unfunded and is anticipation of future work. \n \n \nCandidate must be able to obtain a favorable SF-85P Public Trust suitability determination from the FAA customer. Due to contract requirements, the position requires U.S. Citizenship. \n \n \nPrimary Responsibilities: \n \n \n

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: Design, develop, test, review, debug, deploy, and maintain production-quality cloud-native Java microservices while contributing to software architecture and technical design decisions. \n
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: Facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, promote continuous improvement, and help the team deliver predictable sprint outcomes. \n
• Leverage modern DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development tools, and engineering best practices to accelerate the delivery of secure, high-quality software. \n
• Coordinate with the Release Train Engineer, management, and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate team status, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress. \n
• Support deployment, operational troubleshooting, and resolution of critical issues in development, test, and production environments. \n
• Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across engineering teams to ensure successful sprint execution and project delivery. \n, Beware of fake employment opportunities using Leidos’ name.
