Job description

Supermicro is looking for Sr. Solution Architect to grow and expand the business opportunities of in-house storage solutions from a technical perspective. Your goal is to engage, develop, and expand our customer portfolio in the storage system solutions. In this role, you will be representing Supermicro in major trade shows and conferences to network and meet with clients, and further developing the opportunity pipelines. You will also participate in products and solutions design, ensure new products incorporated the expectations and requirements from customers to increase business opportunity.

This role will be based on our headquarters located in the San Jose, CA., Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Lead sales, FAE, and product team to design and engineer Storage solution proposals to influence and win enterprise customer
  • Lead engineering, service and technical support organizations to resolve all customer issues ensuring operational excellence in post-sales system and technology deployments
  • Design and define next-generation storage server system architecture and work with product managers to manage product development cycles and customer delivery
  • Partner closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure product roadmap is competitive in the market
  • Work closely with internal engineering team to ensure clients’ expectations and requirements are incorporated in the new platform
  • Ensure customer overall satisfaction, collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve clients’ issues or concerns in a timely manner
  • Write technical white papers related to prototypes as well as final resulting products
  • Work w/ marketing to publish products and white paper on tech magazines, etc. and promote the final storage system.
  • Must review SMCI stg system and create 3 new storage systems per quarter based on available market trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experiences, MBA is highly preferable
  • At least 8 years of experience in business development or promoting storage solutions, or server/computer hardware products solutions preferred
  • Prior experience working with tier 1 and/or tier 2 OEM’s, broad experience across product management, product marketing, sales, and business development roles
  • Solid communication skills in both verbal and written
  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and marketing skills
  • Strong executive presence with a track record of winning mid to large clients/business Salary Range

Benefits & conditions

$180,000 - $200,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs. EEO Statement
