NASK has over twenty-five years of experience delivering innovative, mission-critical solutions to the Intelligence and Defense communities. Our teams combine deep technical expertise with a passion for solving the toughest challenges. Collaboration, innovation, and integrity define our culture - empowering engineers to create impactful solutions that advance national security objectives.

NASK builds resilient, scalable teams by pairing strong mentorship with meaningful leadership opportunities. The diversity of our missions creates constant opportunities to grow skills and take on new challenges. We value clear communication and collaboration, and we believe the best solutions can come from anyone on the team. Engineers at NASK are hands-on. We prioritize rapid delivery of working mission solutions and favor measurable, incremental progress over perfection. Engineers move the mission forward by writing code, collaborating with senior engineers, and working across teams to incorporate input from users, operators, and stakeholders.

  • Architect and manage Kubernetes infrastructure across AWS environments, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues in AWS and Linux-based environments, leading root cause analysis, and implementing permanent fixes
  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources consistently and repeatably
  • Build and maintain containerized workloads using Docker and Helm, managing chart repositories and release lifecycles
  • Drive system performance and reliability through continuous improvement initiatives, capacity planning, and proactive optimization
  • Own monitoring and observability with Prometheus and related tooling, defining alerting and dashboards to help reduce time to repair
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines with Git, automating build, test, and deployment workflows for cloud-native applications
  • Implement security controls, including authentication, authorization, and auditing, across Kubernetes clusters and AWS services
  • Collaborate in multi-contractor project teams, aligning technical solutions with shared goals and delivery timelines
  • Communicate effectively with internal engineering teams, customers, and external partners, translating technical issues into clear updates and documentation
  • Establish operational best practices for incident response, disaster recovery, and change management in production environments

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform) for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure at scale
  • Strong experience managing a scalable AWS infrastructure using core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda), following best practices
  • Experience building and supporting distributed microservices architectures
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices using tools like GitLab CI or ArgoCD
  • Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Helm)
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Prometheus)
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • Experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python
  • Experience with large-scale cloud migrations or platform consolidation
  • Familiarity with tools such as ArgoCD, Ansible, or Kubernetes ecosystem tooling
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, and auditing in Kubernetes and AWS
  • Experience implementing RBAC and identity solutions (e.g., Keycloak)
  • Background in embedded systems, FPGA, or hardware/software integration
  • Experience working in regulated, government, or mission-driven environments
