Job description

  • Manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise setting.
  • Design, support, and optimize IMS database performance and data integrity.
  • Perform backup, recovery, and reorganization activities for mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with application development, system programming, and operations teams to ensure seamless database operations.
  • Participate in complex database projects, including migrations and infrastructure support using emerging methodologies.

Requirements

Our client, a leader in enterprise technology solutions, is seeking a Mainframe IMS Application DBA to join their team. As a Mainframe IMS Application DBA, you will be part of the Database Management Department supporting the IMS Database Administration team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization., * Minimum of 7 years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment with Sysplexed Data Sharing.

  • Strong knowledge of Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB databases, including secondary indexing and logical relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with IMS utilities, database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, REXX, and batch/online IMS environments.
  • Experience with database recovery, abend resolution, and data integrity issues.
