Job description

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Azure solutions, including compute, storage, networking, and security services

  • Administer Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environments, including virtual machines in Azure and AWS

  • Support and maintain virtualization platforms, including Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to improve operational efficiency (e.g., lifecycle management of unused VMs)

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues at the Azure platform level, including subscription and resource management

  • Deploy, configure, secure, and optimize virtual machines and virtual networks for performance, availability, and cost efficiency

  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and failover solutions for virtual infrastructure

  • Maintain expert-level administration of Active Directory, including users, groups, authentication, authorization, schema, and logging/analytics

  • Endpoint management (Intune, SCCM, or similar)

  • Understand and support networking concepts including LAN, WAN, internet, intranet, and network segmentation

  • Collaborate with Desktop Administration to support and reallocate desktops, laptops, and peripherals

  • Work closely with the Security team to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated helpdesk tickets and user-reported system issues

  • Ensure systems operate optimally while maintaining cost efficiency

  • Provide recommendations for future upgrades and improvements to the cloud and infrastructure environment

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for systems and endpoints

  • Assist, mentor, and guide other IT team members on system administration processes

  • Collaborate across IT teams, with regular interaction throughout the IT ecosystem

  • Demonstrate a strong desire to learn new technologies and a commitment to customer service excellence

Requirements

The System Administrator should possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical understanding of core cloud computing services, specifically an Azure ecosystem. You need to understand the basic functioning of n etworking, databases, software, and servers in the cloud. You must possess experience in using products such as PowerShell and Office 365 family of products such as exchange, server, and storage. Understand the ways in which these services i ntegrate with Azure. Experience in automating tasks using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Strong verbal and written skills are essential for a System Administrator to communicate with other team members. Excellent time management and project management skills are essential qualities. They should be able to work off hours during deployments of new systems and handle emergency situations when they arise., * Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

  • Microsoft Azure Systems Administration or Engineering certification

  • Experience administering Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) for device management, compliance policies, application deployment, and security baselines

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on system administration experience

  • Strong proficiency with remote access and VDI technologies

  • Scripting experience required: PowerShell, Python, or Bash

  • MCSE or other relevant IT certifications strongly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills

  • Operating Systems & Platforms, Windows 10, 11 Windows Server 2016-2022, VMware and Hyper-V clustering, Linux (nice to have), Networking experience with Fortinet, Cisco, or Aruba (nice to have)

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required, sometimes with limited notice

  • Valid driver’s license
