Job description
We are looking for a Hardware / Robotics Technician to support the bring-up, calibration, testing, and logging of advanced robotic technologies. This role is based in Oakland and will involve both indoor and outdoor work at a closed-course test track.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with emerging technology, troubleshooting hardware and software systems, and collaborating with engineering and product teams.
What You’ll Do
- Perform bring-up, calibration, testing, and data logging for new robotic systems and technologies.
- Execute and document test procedures to verify product behavior, capabilities, and performance.
- Follow detailed test plans, checklists, and safety protocols with a high level of accuracy.
- Work closely with hardware, software, product, and operations teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Observe robot behavior, collect feedback, and help triage technical problems.
- Maintain organized records of test results, issues, fixes, and progress.
- Support deployment and field operations activities as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a technician, robotics, hardware, or related technical role, or a strong demonstrated interest in the field.
- Familiarity with robotic systems, computer systems, or electromechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a test-track environment.
- Organized and process-oriented, with attention to detail when following test plans and checklists.
- Experience using ticketing or issue-tracking tools is a plus.
- Experience with field operations, product deployments, or autonomous vehicle technologies is a bonus.
Benefits & conditions
$35 - $38 an hour - Contract, * Occasional overtime may be required.
- Shift rotation may be needed to support operational and business needs; at least two weeks’ notice will be provided when possible.
- Candidates should be comfortable riding an electric bike as part of the role.
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
