Job description

Manage client engagements, as the functional project lead, with oversight and input from Directors, VPs and the CEO.
Lead the completion of client deliverables, with minimal oversight from Directors and VPs, including defining project objectives and tactics, working with and managing Analyst(s) assigned to the project to gather and prepare the necessary materials and information that include value propositions and performing and completing any necessary technical analysis for the project.
Produce final, polished materials to clients, on time and meeting or exceeding expectations.
Generate final technical materials (written and in presentation or spreadsheet format), including developing initial objectives and tactics. These include, but are not limited to, client presentations, quantitative technical value-propositions, collateral, concept papers and white papers for clients and government consumers.
Lead client meetings and subsequent strategy discussions, including developing the objectives and desired outcomes for the meeting, creating agendas and ensuring that all participants are prepared to contribute their parts of the meeting, in advance.
Prepare follow-up or supporting technical analyses in response to requests for additional information resulting from meetings
Strategic management of grant applications, whitepapers, and RFP responses.
Independently identify and research companies, technologies and government programs, based on knowledge of various client projects, and their objectives. Use this information for the benefit of their clients; and update Directors, VPs and the CEO on the information identified, including insights into the relevance of the information for other projects, outside of your direct responsibilities and clients, or that generate the opportunity to expand our engagement with existing clients.
Prepare internal technical memos and presentations based on their own insight into the needs and objectives of various client and non-client projects.
Manage the rest of the project team and/or clients on targeted assignments, including defining the objectives and the generating the final deliverables.
Manage and mentor Analysts, including but not limited to training on CSA processes and procedures, assigning and overseeing project related tasks, establishing project deadlines, reviewing work product, acting as coach and mentor and conducting performance appraisals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a hard-science or engineering (e.g. material sciences, physics, physical chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and/or similar subject matter)
5 - 9 years of work experience in a technical field (or 3 - 7 years plus a PhD in a hard-science or engineering field)”
Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Excellent quantitative analytical and modeling skills
Ability to think creatively and independently about how to solve new problems or apply technologies to new applications
Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
