Job description
This individual leads, plans, synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements and performs the complex responsibility of the development, creation, and modification of general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions. Designs software or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Modifies existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Gathers, integrates, and interprets information across modules or sub-blocks of code from a variety of sources in order to troubleshoot issues and find solutions. Quickly resolves highly complex software issues and bugs. Communicates with project lead to provide status and information about impending obstacles and suggests remediation. Collaborates with others inside and outside of project team to accomplish project objectives. Identifies gaps in design, effort, etc., and closes the gaps. Suggests strategies for solving issues during technical meetings. Unit tests own code and performs integration testing to verify the stability and functionality of a large feature. Serves as a technical leader within area of focus. Manages project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small projects. Performs code reviews on project team’s submitted solutions. Telematics application framework middleware layer SW (based on Legato) design and development. Linux container design/integration/performance enhancement for Telematics application isolation. Leads the overall SW architecture, solution competitiveness, hands-on bring up and integration activities of Telematics Application Framework/NAD SW platform on top of Hypervisor and LXC. TelAF SW solutions from definition to commercialization with C/C++ programming, embedded Linux, hypervisor/LXC, performance tuning expertise on embedded systems. Telematics application framework (TelAF) OEM integration support. Contributes to systematic Yocto/Kernel configurations for the maximum portability and modular design of Telematics Application Framework across multiple chipset platforms. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan. Telecommuting permitted.
Requirements
Will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field and seven (7) years of progressive experience in a related occupation.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field, the Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in any science or engineering field and one (1) additional year of experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
