Enterprise Hardware Test Technician (Level II)

• Get to root cause on novel and ambiguous failure modes across HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, and SAS
• Interpret SMART data, bus behavior, and test output where the standard rules don’t give a clean answer
• Turn your findings into repeatable process - new and revised SOPs, grading criteria, and screening logic
• Own the quality and consistency of grading decisions across the testing floor
• Troubleshoot the testing rigs themselves - servers, HBAs, connectivity - when they misbehave
• Mentor and unblock Level I technicians; be the escalation point they flag drives to
• Support secure data destruction and sanitization workflows to recognized standards (NIST SP 800-88)

WHAT YOU’LL WORK WITH

• Rack-mounted enterprise storage servers, JBODs, and HBAs at scale
• The full range of enterprise HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, and SAS drives
• Linux, command-line tooling, SMART diagnostics, and hardware imaging / sanitization appliances
• Our internal testing pipeline and grading framework - which you’ll help shape

• Solid hands-on experience diagnosing computer hardware, ideally enterprise servers, storage, or drives
• Strong Linux and command-line skills - this is daily and required, not a “plus”
• The instinct to work a problem to root cause instead of swapping parts until it goes away
• Ability to document what you figured out clearly enough that someone else can repeat it
• Strong judgment and comfort making and defending grading and disposition calls
• Able to work a physically active warehouse role, including lifting up to 50 lbs

Nice to have

• Experience reading and interpreting SMART attributes in depth
• Familiarity with data sanitization standards (NIST SP 800-88 / IEEE 2883)
• Any experience writing SOPs or defining test / QA process
• Light scripting (bash / Python) to speed up your own diagnostics - welcome, not required
