Job description

Schedule: Weekend-focused coverage with additional rotational support as needed; no overnight shifts

Primary focus: Weekend geochemical QA/QC reporting, including timely review, preparation, and delivery of active wellsite project reports., The Field Project Coordinator supports RohmTek’s 24/7 field operations by performing geochemical data QA/QC and preparing timely, accurate reports for active wellsite projects. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide weekend reporting coverage, ensuring continuity between weekday and weekend operations and meeting established client reporting deadlines.

This entry to intermediate level position, and serves as an important connection between field personnel, RohmTek’s internal operations team, and clients. The analyst reviews incoming geochemical data, identifies potential data-quality issues, applies standardized calibration and normalization workflows, prepares client deliverables, and communicates significant findings or operational concerns to the appropriate team members.

The position may also assist with instrument logistics, field-user troubleshooting, and process improvements when reporting responsibilities and project demands allow., Weekend Reporting and QA/QC

  • Provide primary QA/QC and reporting coverage for active wellsite projects during scheduled weekend hours.
  • Review incoming wellsite geochemical datasets, predominantly handheld XRF data, for completeness, consistency, and analytical quality.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver client reports according to established weekend reporting schedules and deadlines.
  • Calibrate, validate, and normalize XRF data using RohmTek’s standardized workflows and applicable client-specific requirements.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, or anomalous data and coordinate with field personnel to resolve issues before report delivery.
  • Generate preliminary geochemical interpretations, including elemental trends, mineral indicators, and observations related to drill cuttings.
  • Confirm that report formats, project information, naming conventions, and supporting documentation are accurate and consistent.
  • Maintain clear handoff documentation between weekday and weekend team members.
  • Escalate significant data-quality, instrument, or reporting issues to the Field Operations Manager or appropriate technical personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed reports, report revisions, client communications, and unresolved project issues.

Field and Client Support

  • Communicate directly with operators, mudloggers, geosteerers, and internal team members regarding data acquisition, report status, and identified QA/QC concerns.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to field users.
  • Help ensure consistent sample analysis, data collection, and reporting practices across active projects.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to reporting questions and time-sensitive operational requests.
  • Support RohmTek’s 24/7 field service model through scheduled weekend and rotational coverage, with no overnight shifts.

Requirements

  • Experience in geoscience, mudlogging, wellsite services, or a related technical field.
  • Strong working knowledge of XRF (elemental) data and geochemical QA/QC practices.
  • Ability and willingness to work a weekend-focused schedule and meet time-sensitive reporting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, including pivot tables, lookups, data formatting, and basic charts.
  • Experience with StarSteer or another geosteering platform is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational, written communication, and client-service skills.
  • Ability to review technical data carefully and recognize potential analytical or operational problems.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, geochemistry, earth sciences, or a related field is preferred.
