Job description

The Readying Professionals in Mobility (RPM) program is managed by the University of Detroit Mercy College of Engineering & Science to assist technology companies in southeast Michigan with hiring interns.

Currently Available Positions

  • Mechanical Design Intern - Support 3-D design and assembly of ergonomic and automated tools, gaining hands-on experience with design updates, layouts, and custom solutions, while assisting with FMEAs, project reviews, and safety compliance.
  • Junior Controls Software Engineer Intern - Support the design and implementation of software for automotive products, gaining hands-on experience with PLC programming, controls hardware, and technical drawings, while assisting with troubleshooting, documentation, and departmental standards.
  • Controls Engineer Intern - Gain hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, learning HMI software, PLC programming, and controls engineering while collaborating with experienced engineers in active manufacturing environments.
  • Cybersecurity Intern - Assist with monitoring systems, spotting security threats, and maintaining a secure network, while supporting the IT team with troubleshooting, documentation, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Research Intern - Support research on the design, manufacturing, and use of industrial metalworking equipment, gaining hands-on experience with processes, materials, and applications, while assisting with equipment and market analysis.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Benefits & conditions

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
