Job description
- Apply advanced EW principles, theories, and emerging technologies to design and develop cutting-edge SOF unique materiel solutions for ECM and EW systems/capabilities and product lines.
- Apply EW and operational knowledge and experience in enabling/supporting materiel solutions development and integration of EW systems with other sensors/effectors within PMCPs family of systems.
- Manage the technical output of design engineers, working either independently or as a team, on unstructured problems and issues involving multivariate factors based on measured empirical field test data or hypothetical data.
- Leverage operational and tactical level military input to conduct technology assessments of DoD RCIED, ECM, communications, and EW systems in support of research, development, testing, and evaluation to include flight test support. The Contractor shall apply EW principles to compatibility assessments between ECM, EW, and tactical communication (e.g. Special Communication Mode)/Blue Force Tracking systems. The Contractor shall support USSOCOM in the development of EW strategies for future systems, draft system performance specifications, and assist in the development of system acquisition strategies.
- Share expertise on the technical and operational compatibility challenges of new and emerging ECM and EW systems with existing legacy systems. The Contractor shall assist in operational planning to enable SOF to predict system effectiveness, and to document performance through quantifiable risk assessments. The Contractor shall integrate EW assessments and input in support of sensitive tactics, techniques, and procedures using ECM and EW materiel solutions.
- Provide critical internal/external EW policy translation/compliance with engineering and technical guidance to the design and modification of USSOCOM EW Family of Systems sensors/devices. The Contractor shall participate in system design reviews, planning meetings, and status reviews providing the USSOCOM staff with critical insights and assessments on design status and maturity. The Contractor shall support development testing, operational evaluation, and support efforts to resolve any system functional issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering, or in lieu of degree, more than thirty years’ experience with military communications, ELINT or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, preferably with SOF units.
- Expert knowledge and experience on current SOF ECM systems, EW systems, current SOF tactical communications equipment and/or other comparable systems that provide similar mission capability to DoD customers.
- Experience as a Principal/Lead EWO in a military/DoD capacity, having served on a development effort for Department of Defense ACAT III or similar/higher program.
- More than fifteen years’ experience supporting the USSOCOM and/or its Component Commands as a RCIED/ ECM/ EW systems technical expert.
