Job description

Fit:Match is seeking a Lead iOS Engineer to serve as the founding technical hire on a clinical team. This individual will own the architecture of the iOS clinical application, partner with our ML/CV team on on-device pose and movement analysis, and establish the engineering standards against which the broader team will build. The role reports directly to the Head of Mobile Development. This is a technical senior individual contributor role., * Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the iOS clinical application

  • Build the data-rich member experience at the heart of the platform: structured workout delivery and logging (prescribed versus completed), longitudinal progress visualization, assessment results, and educational content
  • Implement HealthKit and Apple Watch integration and present wearable-derived data - activity, sleep, recovery, heart-rate variability- in a member-friendly, longitudinal format
  • Partner with backend and web engineers to define the API contracts and shared data models underpinning training programs, assessments, and wearable data
  • Develop real-time pose estimation and movement-analysis capabilities using VNDetectHumanBodyPoseRequest, AVFoundation, and CoreML, advancing an existing live prototype to clinical-grade quality
  • Partner directly with ML/CV engineers on the on-device implementation of custom movement models
  • Define iOS engineering standards for the clinical team, including code organization, testing strategy, and release processes, building on the conventions of our existing mobile team where applicable
  • Mentor and review the work of a junior iOS engineer who will join the team shortly after this hire
  • Collaborate with our existing iOS team of three engineers, who ship our consumer QuadraScan applications, with the authority to evolve shared CI/CD and release infrastructure to meet clinical-grade requirements

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience shipping iOS applications in Swift, including at least one production application making substantive use of AVFoundation, Vision, ARKit, or CoreML (for example, real-time camera pipelines, on-device machine learning, or computer vision)
  • A well-developed perspective on iOS architecture, including composition, testability, and modularization, together with the judgment to apply these principles at a level appropriate to the team’s maturity
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the senior iOS voice on a team, providing code review, mentorship, and technical direction
  • Experience working in a HIPAA-regulated environment, or the professional maturity to ramp into one quickly, * Experience with healthcare, telehealth, or clinical software, particularly FDA-adjacent or EHR-adjacent work
  • Background in computer vision, biomechanics, motion capture, or sports science
  • Experience integrating with HealthKit and Apple Watch
  • A track record of shipping products that leverage on-device machine learning for safety-critical or measurement-critical use cases, * AI-assisted engineering is standard practice at Fit: Match. Tools such as Claude Code are an integrated part of our development workflow, and we expect engineers to use them thoughtfully and effectively.
