Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tableau Data Analyst with strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence dashboards and reports., Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visual analytics solutions.

  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, meaningful, and user-friendly Tableau dashboards.

  • Build Tableau worksheets, dashboards, stories, and reusable reporting templates.

  • Create advanced Tableau calculations, including:

  • Level of Detail expressions

  • Table calculations

  • Calculated fields

  • Parameters

  • Sets

  • Groups

  • Bins

  • Date calculations

  • Dynamic filters

  • Develop dashboard actions such as filter actions, highlight actions, navigation actions, and parameter actions.

  • Connect Tableau to multiple data sources, including relational databases, cloud data platforms, Excel files, APIs, and flat files.

  • Build and manage data extracts, live connections, joins, relationships, unions, and data blending.

  • Publish dashboards and data sources to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.

  • Manage Tableau workbooks, projects, permissions, schedules, subscriptions, and refresh jobs.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot failed extract refreshes, data connection issues, and dashboard errors.

  • Optimize Tableau dashboard performance by improving queries, extracts, filters, calculations, and workbook design.

  • Apply dashboard design best practices to create clean, consistent, accessible, and business-friendly visualizations.

  • Implement row-level security and user-based filtering when required.

  • Perform dashboard testing, data validation, and reconciliation before releasing reports to users.

  • Maintain existing Tableau dashboards and enhance them based on stakeholder feedback.

  • Work closely with business users to understand KPIs, reporting needs, and analytical requirements.

  • Provide Tableau training, documentation, and support to business users when needed.

  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, aggregate, and validate data used in Tableau dashboards.

  • Use Python for data cleaning, automation, exploratory analysis, and preparation of datasets.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis and communicate business insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Advanced Tableau experience is mandatory for this role. The ideal candidate must be able to independently gather reporting requirements, connect Tableau to multiple data sources, create complex calculations, design interactive dashboards, optimize dashboard performance, and publish reports through Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.

The candidate should also have strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python for data analysis, data preparation, validation, and automation., Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop.

  • Strong experience with Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.

  • Demonstrated experience building complex, interactive, and executive-level Tableau dashboards.

  • Advanced knowledge of Tableau calculations, parameters, filters, sets, actions, and Level of Detail expressions.

  • Experience publishing, scheduling, refreshing, and managing Tableau reports and data sources.

  • Strong understanding of dashboard performance optimization.

  • Experience troubleshooting Tableau workbook, extract, refresh, and connectivity issues.

  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard design best practices.

  • Ability to independently convert business requirements into Tableau reporting solutions.

  • Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, Common Table Expressions, aggregate functions, and window functions.

  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.

  • Strong data validation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Certified Data Analyst, or another Tableau certification.

  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.

  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources.

  • Familiarity with Tableau Prep Builder.

  • Experience creating certified data sources and reusable Tableau data models.

  • Experience with row-level security and governance in Tableau.

  • Knowledge of Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.

  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data-warehouse concepts.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Tableau expert who can independently own the complete dashboard development lifecycle-from gathering business requirements and preparing data to developing, publishing, optimizing, and supporting Tableau dashboards.

The candidate must be highly proficient in Tableau. Candidates with only basic Tableau exposure or limited dashboard-development experience will not be suitable for this role.

Benefits & conditions

Pay: $40.00 - $41.00 per hour
