Job description

Our ideal Hardware Test Engineer will have an aptitude, ambition, and attitude to determine compliance with device specifications and their functionality. As a Red 6 Hardware Test Engineer you will design, implement, and execute plans to test computer hardware and optical systems. You will work closely with design engineers, partners, and vendors to ensure that hardware products meet specified requirements and are free from errors., * Design, develop, and execute test plans for R&D testing for computer hardware, circuit boards and related equipment

  • Provide on-site technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ATARS.
  • Create test plans and equipment, implement, and monitor test processes, and complete hardware product qualification verification.
  • Create test plans for environmental tests in accordance with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 including: EMI/EMC, thermal, altitude, and humidity.
  • Develop acceptance test plans for manufacturing units
  • Establish test tool requirements and recording test results.
  • Provide technical support to technicians for various testing tasks.
  • Develop technical specifications for testers and accepting test equipment.
  • Design and build test fixtures and test tools for design review and verification
  • Use a variety of debugging tools to carry out failure analysis.
  • Track test outcomes and document any negative outcomes appropriately.
  • Working closely with Red 6 engineering teams to design test interfaces for all products.
  • Developing hardware validation plans relating to electrical hardware, mechanical hardware, optics, and embedded software.
  • Debugging and testing manufacturing issues.
  • Interfacing with including travel to testing laboratories and suppliers for the development and cost requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience with engineering experience - testing and aerospace experience preferred.
  • Experience in the aviation domain is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python
  • A strong understanding of test equipment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Command line and Linux experience.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
  • This position may require a security clearance. To obtain clearance, employees must show proof of US Citizenship.
