Backend Information Technology Api Design

Job description

We are seeking a Junior Developer / Backend Engineer to help build and maintain our internal data systems and applications. This role will focus on integrating data from multiple sources, improving data quality and accessibility, and supporting the development of scalable backend services.

You will work closely with both technical and business teams to ensure data is reliable, structured, and usable across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering

Develop and maintain data pipelines across internal and external data sources
Clean, transform, and organize datasets for operational and analytical use
Design and manage data models to support reporting and applications

Backend Development

Build and maintain APIs to support internal tools and applications
Integrate third-party systems and data sources
Contribute to backend services that power business workflows

Database Management

Write and optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability
Support database design, schema updates, and data integrity
Monitor and improve overall data system performance

Cross-Functional Support

Collaborate with operations, finance, and other teams to understand data needs
Help translate business requirements into technical solutions
Support reporting, dashboards, and internal tools

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, query optimization)
Proficiency in Python or another backend language
Understanding of relational databases and data structures
Experience working with APIs
