Job description

Our client’s Video Insights organization is seeking an ETL Manager to join their high-priority data group in Greenwood Village, CO. This role begins as an individual contributor, providing support to ETL developers and learning the environment, technology stack, and development patterns. Within a few months, you will transition to managing a near-shore development team (5-6 engineers) and provide temporary onshore leadership coverage. You will play a key role in bridging technical leadership and people management, collaborating with both back-end ETL and front-end Tableau/Insights teams. The position offers exposure to large-scale data environments, innovative projects such as merger integration, AI automation, VR datasets, and data monetization, and the opportunity to lead within a dynamic, growth-focused organization. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support ETL developers in converting business requirements into scalable data architecture and ETL flows
  • Review and guide technical design decisions (HQL, SQL, Bash, cloud environments)
  • Troubleshoot blockers, propose alternative solutions, and ensure efficient delivery of data pipelines
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of 300-400+ ETL jobs, ensuring data pipeline reliability
  • Provide clear, direct communication and actionable feedback to engineers
  • Lead and manage a near-shore ETL team (located in Mexico, Central Time Zone) after ramp-up
  • Collaborate with onshore teams and partner with front-end reporting teams (e.g., Tableau)
  • Contribute to initiatives such as merger integration, AI-driven efficiencies, onboarding new datasets (e.g., VR device data), and data monetization projects
  • Work closely with back-end ETL and near-shore engineers, as well as front-end Tableau/Insights teams, * Lead a growing near-shore ETL team within one of the client’s highest-priority data groups
  • Opportunity to bridge technical leadership and people management

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SQL / HQL (reviewing, rewriting, and optimizing queries)
  • Experience with ETL flows, data architecture, and production pipelines
  • Comfort with Bash or similar scripting languages
  • Prior leadership experience (team lead, mentoring, or early-stage manager)
  • Ability to have direct, constructive conversations and hold teams accountable
  • Ability to work onsite in Denver 4 days per week (non-negotiable)
  • Curiosity and eagerness to master cloud-based data environments (AWS)
  • Excellent communication skills and authenticity in leading people
