Job description

In your new role you will:

  • Execute system solution roadmap that help Infineon achieve the goal to be market leader in AI data center, Telecom solution provider(application notes, solution boards, applications block diagrams, system value prop., Tech notes, simulation models).
  • Lead the conceptualization, design and validation of state-of-the-art power electronics sub systems tailored for high-density AI accelerators,including custom DC-DC power converters, and highly dynamic power supply architectures. Focus on high efficiency, high density designs capable of sustaining the high transient power demands inherent to AI inference and training tasks.
  • Explore novel DC/DC power conversion methods such as resonant converters, wide-band gap semiconductors (e.g., GaN, SiC), and HV-IBC architectures to push the envelope of AI infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and describe system architecture and application requirements for Telecom and Sever power supplies
  • Carry out research and study systems being sold on the market to understand topology, content and key technical issues. Perform teardowns.
  • Define quantifiable technical value propositions and collaterals on application level and evaluate new solutions such as GaN.
  • Be responsible for system concept verification and design-in collaterals, including concept evaluation designs and technical customer support on application level where needed
  • Conduct technical trainings on system level with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Digital marketing team for proper system solution positioning, system block representation & creations on Infineon website that ensure the ease of searchability and understanding of solution for Infineon’s customers.
  • Provide technical inputs to customer proposals (RFIs/RFQs). Contributing to digital & analog controllers, and power stages productfeature definition
  • Occasional travel (Approximately 10-15%of the time) for customer meetings in San Jose, CA

Requirements

  • M. S. in EE with minimum 8 years experience or B.S. in EE with minimum 10 years experience in power electronics with emphasis on isolated/non-isolated DC/DC power converters.
  • Should have extensive knowledge of DC-DC converter topologies,magnetic components, power semiconductor characteristics.
  • Experience developing DC/DC power converter solution including concept, block diagrams, simulation, schematic, PCB layout and board level debugging, test and validation.
  • Experience using simulation and PCB design tools
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers in the team, providing training on power electronics topics, conducting design reviews before release.
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written English
  • Desired Skills: o Experience in using digital & analog controllers and gate drivers for power management (Si &GAN) o Experience in magnetics design and optimization o Experience with safety and EMI compliance o An advanced degree or doctorate in electrical engineering, power electronics or a related technical field o Profound expertise in telecom brick designs, rack power supplies,Artificial Intelligence o At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Application Engineering, System Engineering, ideally at OEM, Tier1 or Engineering Service Provider
