Software Developer - On-Site in Jacksonville

Cognativ is looking for a creative, adaptable software developer to join our Jacksonville team.

This is not a remote or hybrid position. You must be able to work from our Jacksonville office during normal East Coast business hours.

About the Role

You will help turn real business problems into working software. Our current technology environment includes C#, .NET, Blazor, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, APIs, Git, Docker, and automated testing.

Experience with these technologies is helpful, but we are not looking for someone who defines themselves by one programming language or framework. Languages can be learned. We care more about how you think, how quickly you learn, and whether you can use modern tools and approaches to produce reliable results.

You will work within an established architecture and collaborate directly with experienced technical, product, and business leadership.

What You Will Do

• Build and improve application features.
• Work across user interfaces, application logic, APIs, integrations, and databases.
• Break business problems into practical implementation steps.
• Learn unfamiliar technologies as needed.
• Use modern development tools, automation, and reusable patterns to work efficiently.
• Test and review your work rather than assuming the first solution is correct.
• Troubleshoot problems methodically.
• Communicate questions, risks, and progress clearly.
• Take responsibility for assigned work through completion., The tools available to developers continue to evolve, but the developer remains responsible for understanding, reviewing, testing, and supporting the work they deliver.

A computer-science degree, certifications, and a specific number of years of experience are not required. Relevant experience may come from employment, independent projects, freelance work, formal education, open-source work, or technical hobbies.
