Model-Based Systems Engineer

Waypoint’s client is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the development, analysis, and integration of complex systems and systems of systems. This role focuses on applying Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies to define system architectures, behaviors, and interfaces while ensuring traceability across the system lifecycle., * Develop and maintain SysML-based system models representing system architecture, behavior, and interfaces.

• Apply MBSE methodologies to support system design, integration, and lifecycle management.
• Create and manage engineering artifacts, models, and integrated datasets for complex systems and systems of systems.
• Support architecture development using MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, system models, and design artifacts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including government customers and external contractors, to support system development efforts.
• Analyze system architectures and engineering data to support design decisions and system improvements.
• Develop and present technical documentation, models, and engineering artifacts to stakeholders.

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or MBSE.
• Strong knowledge of SysML for modeling system architectures and behaviors.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
• Experience developing and maintaining models, artifacts, and integrated datasets for complex systems.

Desired:

• Knowledge of SysML 2.0.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, or similar.
• Experience analyzing engineering data to solve complex system challenges and improve system performance.
• Knowledge of aerospace or defense systems and processes.
• Experience with modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and methodologies.
