Job description

As part of a team specialized in the management of EO satellite data, you will contribute to the evolution of EO data management infrastructures.

Working closely with space agencies, you will analyze mission and related technical requirements, assess their impact, and contribute to the evolution of the software reference architecture based on interoperability standards.

Your expertise will support the evolution of data models, interoperability standards, and RESTful service architectures to meet the growing needs of European space programs., * Analyze new mission data and interface requirements and their potential impact.

  • Contribute to the evolution of data management architectures for Earth Observation systems
  • Provide engineering support as part of an integrated team to the end customer.
  • Assess the technical impact of new requirements and recommend appropriate architectural evolutions
  • Prepare, document, and support Change Requests aimed at improving existing system architecture and interfaces
  • Contribute to technical experiments or technical reports to be presented in international working groups focused on interoperability of Earth Observation systems.
  • Contribute to evolution of EO data models and metadata definitions
  • Support maintenance and evolution of an EO mission-related knowledge graph and related toolset.
  • Produce technical documentation, architecture guidelines, and best practices
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure compliant implementation of standards, You will contribute directly to the evolution of architectures supporting some of the world’s most advanced Earth Observation missions, while collaborating with leading European space agencies and international experts.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Computer Science, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Space Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of distributed software architectures
  • Experience with the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and OGC standards
  • Understanding of Earth Observation, EO data models and EO data processing, dissemination and preservation workflows
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical specifications
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and Change Proposals
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs

  • Ability to interact with software architects, scientists, engineers and institutional stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French & English (technical conversations)
