Job description

Another Star is the operator of 37 citizenM hotels worldwide. We are a global lifestyle hotel management company involved in the in-stay part of the customer journey. This gives us an incredibly rich dataset to collect, transform, and analyze in order to improve the effectiveness of the operating model and therefore guest experience. Much of this data flows through and lives in Another Star’s data platform. If you love the idea of turning complex raw data into well-modeled, accessible insights - then you’ve found your hive., As a Junior Analytics Engineer you’ll help shape the data foundations that power decision-making across Another Star. You’ll work with our data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to transform raw data from multiple systems into well-structured, analytics-ready models and dashboards. You’ll be hands-on with our data platform; building, optimizing, and modeling datasets that make our business smarter every day. This role bridges data engineering and analytics: you’ll create data pipelines, develop business logic in SQL/Python, and visualize the results through dashboards and ad hoc analyses. You will report into the Data & Analytics team within the Tech & Data department and collaborate closely with both our technical platform owner and business platform owner to ensure data reliability, clarity, and accessibility across the company., * Build and maintain clean, reliable data pipelines (ELT/ETL) within our data platform (Databricks / SQL / PySpark).

  • Model datasets across the bronze-silver-gold layers to support analytical and operational use cases.
  • Collaborate with analysts to design & maintain reusable metrics and tables that serve multiple business domains (commercial, operations, finance, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain dashboards (PowerBI) that surface business insights in a clear, self-service way.
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis and exploration to answer specific business questions.
  • Work with the senior data engineers on improving data quality, performance, and observability across the platform.
  • Document data models, transformations, and key business logic.
  • Continuously learn and contribute ideas for improving data workflows, pipelines, and analytics processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or Business Analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational / dimensional modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI preferred).
  • Intermediate level of Python for data wrangling, scripting and data engineering.
  • Exposure to ETL/ELT workflows (Databricks Jobs, Airflow etc.) is a plus.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, transformations, and version-controlled development (Git).
  • Interest in learning modern data stack tools (Databricks, Delta Lake, dbt, PowerBI).
  • Interest/familiarity with practical use cases of ML and AI frameworks.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and curiosity to explore data deeply.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into clear business understanding.
  • Experience working in an agile team environment is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a business analytics related role is a plus.

Benefits & conditions

  • citizenM experience nights for you (and friends and family). Discount rates at Marriott hotels.
  • Personal and professional development opportunities and programs
  • Latest tech devices and all the tools you need to be successful in your role

  • Varied team days and social events (from food trucks and quizzes at the office to parties on boats)
