Job description
The Senior IT Project Manager leads complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that support operational and strategic business objectives. This role is responsible for managing projects through the full lifecycle including intake, planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder communication, budgeting, vendor coordination, testing, and implementation activities. The position serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of enterprise technology solutions., * Leads medium-to-large enterprise technology projects involving cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
- Establishes and maintains processes for managing the IT demand queue, working with the business to prioritize activities, tasks, and projects.
- Facilitates alignment between business priorities, project objectives, and technical delivery teams.
- Partners with business stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, budgets, timelines, and return-on-investment analysis.
- Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
- Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, scope, and quality objectives.
- Creates and maintains project documentation including project charters, stakeholder analysis, project plans, status reports, and risk matrices.
- Establishes and tracks project milestones, manages project dependencies and risks, and adjusts schedules and expectations as necessary to support successful delivery.
- Identifies project risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and mitigation strategies.
- Drives accountability across project teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
- Ensures adherence to IT governance, project management methodologies, organizational change management processes, and project documentation standards.
- Establishes and implements project communication plans and provides regular project status updates, portfolio reporting, and risk assessments to leadership and stakeholders.
- Coordinates testing, implementation, cutover, and post-go-live support activities.
- Analyzes project performance, trends, risks, and key metrics to prepare executive-level project status reporting.
- Supports continuous improvement of PMO processes, governance standards, and project delivery methodologies.
- Facilitates meetings, steering committees, and executive reviews to support project alignment and decision-making.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Certified Project Manager certification?, Do you have experience in Waterfall software development?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Thorough understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and planning techniques.
- Experience with project management methodologies including waterfall and agile.
- Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure, package implementations, system implementations, and software development projects.
- Experience managing enterprise technology projects with distributed teams and third-party vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to motivate groups of people to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business user groups, and executive leadership across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms, and reporting tools.
- Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and industry.
- Must be bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business, or related field required.
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of related IT project management experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
