Job description
- Responsible for performing all of the necessary technical work for managing customer IT infrastructure
- Evaluate client systems and recommend upgrades
- Perform in-house, on-site and remote computer and network services
- Work with Customer’s business-critical server and software packages and those support vendors
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
- Configure and setup Firewalls, Switches, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances
- Ensure proper maintenance of documentation (hardware, software, network, and problem logs).
- Back up and restoration of client systems and data
- Maintain the appropriate technical knowledge and remain abreast of trends in the industry to support the network and PC environment.
- Call and work with external vendors to troubleshoot IT related issues for lab and manufacturing facility wherever they may occur.
- Be able to effectively write and maintain technical documentation
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and licenses
Requirements
Required: Senior engineer Level IT skill set with vast experience in IT field, including but not limited to Microsoft: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Terminal Services, Exchange, Powershell, SSL Protocol/Certificates, Licensing and VMware: ESXi, vCenter, vSphere Suite, Patch Management. Excellent understanding of current hardware devices Operating systems and software. Cyber security solutions; Cylance (and equivalent solutions) SPAM Filters, Message Archiver, Web Filters, SSL VPN, security software, Backup solutions and replication processes, Veeam, Nutanix, Virtual desktops, SQL, MS Office 365, MS server, advanced network security/routing/switching, Firewall, PC and Server Hardware, and SAN solutions.
- Project management experience
- Experience designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions, provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
- Self starter, multitasker
- must be able to identify opportunity for process improvement
- provide escalation for technical support to team
- must be highly detailed, and documentation driven
