WordPress Developer

Robert Half Technology are assisting an AI Software business to recruit a WordPress Developer on a contract basis. Hybrid working - London based.Role

• The WordPress Developer will take ownership of the company’s corporate website, delivering enhancements, new functionality and ongoing improvements to support the business’s evolving product offering and marketing strategy.
• Develop, customise and maintain WordPress themes, plugins and functionality to ensure a high-performing, scalable website.
• Work closely with Marketing, UX and Product teams to deliver a modern, engaging digital experience.
• Optimise the website for SEO and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), ensuring content is discoverable across AI search platforms and large language models.
• Integrate third-party platforms including HubSpot, Google Ads and other marketing technologies.
• Implement custom WordPress development where required to support new business initiatives.
• Manage website performance, security and CDN configuration, including Cloudflare and cookie consent solutions.
• Support the launch of new AI-driven products and API offerings by delivering new website functionality and landing pages.
• Monitor website performance and recommend continuous improvements to user experience, speed and search visibility.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in WordPress, AI search, SEO and digital marketing best practices.

• The WordPress Developer will have extensive commercial experience delivering and maintaining enterprise or corporate WordPress websites.
• Expert knowledge of WordPress development, including themes, plugins, custom functionality and best practices.
• Strong front-end development skills with the ability to code bespoke WordPress solutions when required.
• Extensive knowledge of SEO and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), with an understanding of how websites are surfaced by AI platforms.
• Experience integrating platforms such as HubSpot, Google Ads, Google Analytics and other marketing technologies.
• Strong understanding of Cloudflare, website security, performance optimisation and cookie management.
• Experience working on high-traffic, metrics-driven websites.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A portfolio, blog or examples of previous WordPress projects would be highly advantageous.

The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.
