Job description

  • Senior Full Stack Engineer working with TypeScript, React and AWS
  • Brand-new cloud-native trading platform
  • Belfast, hybrid working
  • Up to £70,000, depending on experience
  • Ground-floor opportunity to shape a next-generation platform alongside a major cloud partner

The Role

You’ll join a newly formed team building a modern, cloud-native trading platform from the ground up.

Working closely with Principal Engineers, architects and engineers from a major cloud partner, you’ll take ownership across design, development, testing and deployment. You’ll also mentor junior engineers, influence architecture and help shape the wider engineering culture.

This role suits someone who enjoys both hands-on delivery and challenging technical decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test and deploy services across the platform
  • Build low-latency, event-driven systems within a microservices architecture
  • Lead technical and architecture discussions
  • Work with Principal Engineers, architects and leads to move services into production
  • Improve engineering standards, testing and delivery processes
  • Help evolve systems towards the target-state architecture
  • Support estimation, challenge requirements and shape solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and raise the technical bar across the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in full stack, front-end or back-end engineering
  • Strong TypeScript and React experience
  • Experience with Redux, React Query, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Backend experience with TypeScript, C# or Java
  • Strong AWS knowledge, including Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway or AppSync
  • Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets
  • Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL and microservices architecture
  • Experience with containerisation, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of pub/sub messaging such as SOLACE or AMQP
  • Strong automated testing across unit, integration and end-to-end testing
  • Comfortable working in Agile teams using Git, JIRA and Linux or PowerShell

Desirable

  • Strong understanding of OOP and SOLID principles
  • Commercial experience with C# and .NET 8+
  • Experience in financial markets, trading systems or regulated environments

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary up to £70,000, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working from Belfast
  • Build a brand-new platform rather than maintaining legacy systems
  • Work alongside a major cloud partner and experienced architects
  • Genuine influence over architecture and technical direction
  • Mentoring and leadership opportunities at Manager, Band 6 level
  • Exposure to modern, low-latency and event-driven systems
  • Join a global business operating across more than 60 offices in 27 countries
