Contract LabVIEW Software Engineer Rate: Up to £55 per hour - Outside IR35 Contract length: 3 months initially Location: Gatwick - Hybrid We’re recruiting on behalf of a client for a Contract LabVIEW Software Engineer to review, improve and productionise an existing final test application for a thermal management controller product. The test rack is already built. This is a software first engagement focused on getting the LabVIEW application, sequence reliability and logging into a robust, manufacturing-ready state. Responsibilities: Reviewing an existing LabVIEW final test application for structure, maintainability and production usability Improving test sequence flow, operator prompts, error handling and fault isolation messaging Reviewing/improving comms handling - bootloader/application checks, controller communications, status verification Improving logging for serial number, software version, config data, results and failure reasons (full traceability) Creating/updating the

Requirements

LabVIEW executable deployment package and documenting the release baseline Supporting hardware and fixture debug alongside the software work where needed, and supporting pilot production runs Requirements: Strong, hands-on National Instruments LabVIEW development/debugging experience Experience with industrial automated final test equipment A track record of improving existing test software, not just building new applications from scratch Comfortable with Ethernet, USB/FTDI, command/response interfaces and automated logging Structured, documentation-led approach to issue management and handover Desirable: three-phase powered equipment test experience, load banks/thermocouple simulators/DMMs, thermal or heater control equipment.
