Job description

Lead Student Media’s digital publishing operations by managing online platforms, social media channels, and multimedia content to maximize audience engagement and user experience. This position oversees digital content strategy, website management, analytics, and cross-platform publishing while collaborating with editorial and broadcast teams to ensure timely, engaging, and optimized delivery of student-produced content across all digital channels, Manages all digital publishing platforms and online media operations including Facebook, YouTube and Instagram

Oversees website updates, digital formatting and user experience management

Manages social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube

Oversees multimedia integration including video, livestreams, graphics, and interactive content

Monitors audience analytics, engagement trends, SEO, and digital growth metrics

Coordinates scheduling and publication of digital content

Collaborates with editorial and broadcast teams to optimize content for online audiences

Attend weekly meetings with the Supervisor and Student Staff.

The editor is required to work in the office no less than 20 hours each week. The times must be posted and followed. At least 10 of the 20 hours must be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Serve as a direct line to adviser, sales manager, production coordinator, and business manager when the coordinator is unavailable.

Serve as a contact person with Communication and Journalism Department.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be a currently enrolled University of Wyoming student with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Experience with website content management systems and digital publishing platforms.

Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for an organization, publication, or comparable project.

Knowledge of digital content strategy, social media best practices, and audience engagement techniques.

Familiarity with multimedia content including video, photography, graphics, and livestreaming.

Basic understanding of SEO, web analytics, and digital performance metrics.

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty in a professional and respectful manner., Previous experience in student media, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.

Experience using website platforms (e.g., WordPress or similar CMS), social media management tools, and analytics platforms.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar multimedia production software.

Experience creating or managing digital marketing campaigns or audience growth initiatives.

Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.

Knowledge of AP Style and digital journalism best practices.

Experience analyzing audience data and using metrics to improve content performance.
