Job description

  • Conduct user research, competitor analysis, and usability testing; translate insights into design improvements.
  • Create user personas, journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Build, maintain, and evolve the design system (components, style guides, typography, iconography) to ensure brand and UI consistency across platforms.
  • Optimize key funnels (search, browse, add-to-cart, checkout) using data from analytics, heatmaps, and A/B testing.
  • Leverage AI design tools to accelerate ideation, prototyping, content generation, and design iteration.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure pixel-perfect, responsive implementation and accessibility compliance (WCAG standards).
  • Work with marketing teams on landing pages, campaign creatives, banners, and seasonal/sale event designs.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior designers; contribute to design process improvements.
  • Stay updated on e-commerce UX trends, emerging AI tools, and best practices.
  • Design Intuitive, conversion focused user experiences for the e-commerce website and mobile app (home page, product listing, product detail, cart, checkout, account, and order tracking flows).

Design & Prototyping Tools

  • Figma (primary - including Auto Layout, Components, Variables, Dev Mode)
  • Adobe XD, Sketch (working knowledge)
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Prototyping: Figma Prototyping, ProtoPie, Framer, InVision

AI-Powered Design Tools (must be comfortable working with)

  • Figma AI / Figma Make - AI-assisted design and prototyping
  • Midjourney / DALL·E / Adobe Firefly - AI image and visual asset generation
  • ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini - UX copywriting, research synthesis, ideation, persona generation
  • Uizard / Galileo AI / Visily - AI wireframe and mockup generation
  • v0 / Lovable / Framer AI - AI-assisted web design and front-end generation
  • Relume AI - AI sitemaps and wireframes
  • Khroma / Colormind - AI color palette tools
  • Attention Insight / Neurons - AI-based attention heatmap prediction

Research, Testing & Analytics Tools

  • Google Analytics (GA4), Hotjar / Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps & session recordings)
  • Maze, UserTesting, Lookback (usability testing)
  • Optimizely / VWO / Google Optimize alternatives (A/B testing)

Collaboration & Handoff Tools

  • Jira, Confluence, Trello, Asana, Notion
  • Zeplin / Figma Dev Mode for developer handoff
  • Miro / FigJam for workshops and brainstorming

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on UI/UX design experience, preferably with at least 1-2 years on e-commerce or consumer-facing products.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating e-commerce or transactional product design work (portfolio link required with application).
  • Experience integrating AI tools into the design workflow.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead small design initiatives independently.

Technical Knowledge (Good to Have)

  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or custom platforms)
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2)
