Embedded Hardware Engineer

• Support Test Engineering and Manufacturing on testing requirements and prototype builds
• Assist Technical Support with product related problems or questions
• Define and continuously improve Engineering processes
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years’ experience in an engineering environment developing and/or validating board level designs
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
• Good understanding of x86 architecture
• Good understanding of design process flow
• Good understanding of oscilloscopes, multimeters and schematic capture

Essential Skills

· Board-Level Design: Experience with component selection, schematic capture, and creating precise layout guidelines for PCB designers.

· Testing & Debugging: Comfort using bench tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters to diagnose prototype errors or investigate field failures.

· X86 Architecture Familiarity: Because VersaLogic builds standard-based embedded computers (like PC/104 architectures), basic knowledge of how x86 processors operate, boot, and communicate with peripherals is crucial.
