Job description

CID-Central Institute for the Deaf is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative and solutions-focused data analyst to support the day-to-day maintenance, accuracy and continuous improvement of the organization’s data systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, learning new technology, solving problems and helping teams use information effectively to support mission-driven work., The data analyst will help maintain and optimize CID’s core data solution systems, with primary responsibility for Knack and HearForm (a FileMaker Pro system). The position supports system functionality, data quality, troubleshooting, reporting, dashboard maintenance and cross-departmental data needs. Working under the supervision of the director of program evaluation and in close collaboration with the data systems analyst and engineer, the data analyst will play an important role in strengthening CID’s data infrastructure and supporting data-informed decision-making across the organization., * Maintain and update data within CID’s data systems, primarily Knack and HearForm.

  • Perform routine system maintenance, data clean-up, validation and quality assurance checks.
  • Monitor system functionality and troubleshoot routine system and data issues.
  • Prepare datasets for reporting, dashboards and program evaluation activities.
  • Maintain and update PowerBI dashboards and support data visualization efforts using PowerBI and Snowflake.
  • Respond to routine data requests from program evaluators and departments.
  • Create and maintain user documentation, workflow guides and records of system changes.
  • Provide timely technical support and assist with training staff on data entry processes and system use.
  • Use AI tools appropriately to support troubleshooting, coding, documentation and problem-solving while reviewing work for accuracy, security and relevance.

First Year Priorities

While the full scope of the role spans multiple systems and tools, initial priorities emphasize building a strong operational and organizational foundation. During the first year, the data analyst will focus on:

  • Developing proficiency in CID’s core systems, particularly Knack and HearForm.
  • Learning system workflows, data structures and how data connects across departments.
  • Taking ownership of routine system maintenance, updates and quality assurance processes.
  • Building confidence in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day system issues.
  • Developing familiarity with reporting needs and common data requests across the organization.
  • Beginning skill development in PowerBI and Snowflake through guided application.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is analytical, accurate, organized and curious. They are comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with colleagues across departments. They respect confidentiality, value data integrity, communicate clearly and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and improvement., * Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience or coursework in data management, analysis, statistics or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work across departments, build trust and support colleagues with professionalism and patience.
