Job description

Elucidation Concepts is seeking a highly motivated System Engineer (Skill Level 1-3) to join our team. In this role, you will analyze user requirements, concept of operations documentation, and high-level system architectures to develop detailed system requirements and specifications. You will lead and guide design development activities, advise users on integrating requirements into ongoing operations, and develop technical and design documentation, including system architecture products.

As a System Engineer with Elucidation Concepts, you will support system development and implementation planning through assessments and preparation of system engineering management, integration, and test plans. You will engage directly with Government stakeholders and program personnel, resolve technical considerations, and ensure the technical integrity and quality of all deliverables within your area of responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze and manage system and derived requirements to ensure delivery of defined system architecture(s) compatible with production systems (e.g., DoDAF , Service-Oriented Architecture).
  • Develop and maintain system engineering documentation such as system engineering plans, initial capabilities documents, requirement specifications, and interface control documents.
  • Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria in clear, actionable plans.
  • Provide technical direction for the development of system and functional requirements, and design solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Plan and verify new system designs to ensure compliance with established requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in design activities across multiple teams, generate alternative system concepts and physical architectures, and address interface designs.
  • Allocate process and error budgets to system and subsystem components.
  • Review and provide input into program and contract work breakdown structures (WBS) and integrated master plans (IMP).
  • Establish and manage the approval process for system or component definitions, ensuring alignment for hardware and software developers.
  • Implement operational, technical, and system views for architectures using applicable DoDAF standards and comprehensive SOA solutions.
  • Review and approve system engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Assess risks, develop alternatives, and recommend courses of action for risk mitigation.
  • Capture interface designs in a standard format and maintain them in an accessible repository.
  • Establish processes to control, manage, and track changes to requirements, preserving the technical integrity of the system baseline over time.
  • Support planning and test analysis for the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.
  • Develop and review Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents.
