Job description

We’re looking for a seasoned Software Engineer to take on a central role in the development and maintenance of large-scale, distributed web applications. You’ll be working on systems that matter - architecting and building scalable, high-performance software in a cloud-native environment while operating in the offensive cyber space.

This is a high-impact engineering role where you’ll design microservices, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and leverage Infrastructure-as-Code to keep cloud deployments running reliably and securely. But it doesn’t stop there - you’ll also work directly alongside security researchers, applying your engineering rigor to offensive cyber and vulnerability research challenges. If you’ve always wanted to use your software development skills in a mission environment where the stakes are real, this is that opportunity.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain large-scale, distributed web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python
  • Architect scalable microservices and backend systems that support high-performance data processing and communication
  • Utilize DevOps automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code to deploy and manage services in commercial cloud environments
  • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure the continuous delivery of secure and reliable software
  • Collaborate with security researchers to integrate engineering best practices into offensive cyber and vulnerability research projects
  • Partner with users and analysts to improve tooling and expand mission capabilities

Requirements

  • 8 years of professional software engineering experience, or 4 additional years of experience in place of a B.S. in a technical discipline
  • B.S. in a technical discipline (or equivalent additional experience as noted above)
  • Professional software development experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade, distributed web applications and system architectures
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps automation, cloud service providers (e.g., AWS), and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
  • Solid understanding of modern software engineering principles, including version control, testing frameworks, and agile workflows
  • Experience working in high-side development environments and non-attributed network configurations
  • Active TS//SCI clearance with polygraph

Preferred Skills

  • Experience or genuine interest in offensive cyber operations, vulnerability research, and software reverse engineering
  • Familiarity with Android application architecture and an interest in mobile vulnerability research
  • Experience with low-level programming in C/C++ and the use of debuggers such as gdb or similar tools
