Job description

The Lead Research & Data Analyst will use data analytics to impact strategic work streams by answering questions that have significant influence on the near and long-term success of Northwestern Mutual. The individual will use client insights, captured via research and statistical analyses, to inform initiatives that will deliver a more delightful client experience. A blend of analytical prowess, discernment, curiosity and strong communication / interpersonal skills are important for success in this role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leverage NM databases and external data sources to generate insights about NM clients and core consumers to identify new opportunities for the company
  • Structure and complete primary research required to solidify strategic recommendations.
  • Synthesize existing research findings and make recommendations
  • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines for real-time analysis
  • Work in an ambiguous environment and adapt quickly to change
  • Tell compelling stories with data and influence company’s strategy

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in an analytics / quantitative field such as: Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related analytical field of study or equivalent combination of training and experience. A graduate level degree in an analytics-focused field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience with data analytics
  • Intermediate proficiency with SQL and R/Python- assessment required
  • Outstanding communication skills with experience packaging and delivering stories in Powerpoint.
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience with consumer / client / market research is preferred

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start: $97,930.00

Pay Range - End: $181,870.00
