Job description

The Software Engineer 2 codes software applications based on business requirements. The Software Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer 2 standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

As a Systems Engineer 2, you will

perform coding, testing, implementation and support tasks in order to develop, maintain, and enhance computer solutions for business needs.

act as a group leader, partnering with project managers to transform business requirements into actual designs.

Interpret production trends and abnormalities in order to determine root causes

Answer incoming customer calls, resolving specific questions about specific applications

Create process improvements for various business segments

Perform or assist in analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and support tasks needed to develop, maintain web pages and .net applications and reports using Visual Studio/.NET Framework, C#, MVC 5.0, SSIS/SSRS, SQL Server and JavaScript

Design and develop RESTful API and Soap services.

Deploying and Testing and implementing code using a DevOps methodology

Requirements

Strong knowledge and implementation experience in .net design patterns, C#, ASP.NET technologies.

Two years of progressive information technology experience

Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of technical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience configuring and maintaining Azure DevOps Build and Release Pipelines

Develop and fine tune stored procedures in SQL Server or similar technologies

Deploying and Testing and implementing code using a DevOps methodology

Coordinating work with onshore and offshore teams within a global sourcing model

Working knowledge of DB2 and Web development

Experience with integration of legacy systems, mainframes and external services through real-time as well as batch processing.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Working understanding of Git and proper branching policies
