Job description

The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s information systems and data from potential cyber threats. This position involves monitoring network traffic, analyzing security incidents, and assisting in the implementation of security measures to protect sensitive information. The analyst will work closely with senior cybersecurity professionals to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions to enhance our security posture. Additionally, the role includes maintaining documentation of security incidents and responses, contributing to a culture of security awareness within the organization. Ultimately, the Junior Cybersecurity Analyst will help ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our digital assets., * Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential security breaches.

  • Assist in the investigation of security incidents and provide detailed reports on findings.
  • Support the implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in the remediation of identified risks.
  • Participate in security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Internship or practical experience in a cybersecurity role.
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), The required skills for this position include a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and the ability to analyze network traffic for anomalies. Familiarity with security tools will be utilized daily to monitor and protect our systems from threats. Preferred skills, such as scripting, will enhance the analyst’s ability to automate tasks and improve efficiency in incident response. Strong analytical skills will be essential for investigating security incidents and providing actionable insights. Additionally, effective communication skills will be necessary for collaborating with team members and educating staff on security best practices.
