Job description

Our Client is hiring for a reputed client to help lead a critical transformation of legacy data feeds and services onto AWS. This is a delivery-focused architecture role where your judgement, structure and assurance will turn messy legacy realities into clear, safe migration and decommissioning plans-backed by strong governance and practical outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead architecture teams to discover, document and assure existing data feeds, interfaces, dependencies and operational constraints
  • Set documentation standards and quality expectations so outputs are consistent, traceable and usable across engineering, delivery, operations and governance
  • Define AWS target-state transformation approaches (data movement, processing, integration, security, resilience, observability and support)
  • Develop decommissioning strategies for legacy services, including dependency mapping, migration sequencing, risk management, cutover planning and retirement evidence
  • Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate feed discovery and architecture artefact production-ensuring human review, accuracy, security and governance
  • Provide architectural assurance throughout discovery, design, migration and decommissioning, challenging unsupported assumptions and incomplete analysis
  • Partner with delivery leads, engineers, operations teams, client stakeholders and third parties to keep plans realistic and aligned to programme priorities

Requirements

  • Experience leading teams of architects and coaching delivery-ready technical outputs
  • Strong background in analysing complex legacy data feeds and mapping consumers, business usage and service dependencies
  • Proven ability to plan AWS data service transformations (pipelines, storage, processing, integration, security, monitoring and support considerations)
  • Track record of creating credible decommissioning strategies with evidence-based retirement decisions
  • Confidence operating within multi-supplier governance environments, owning architectural decisions, risks, issues and assumptions
  • Clear communication skills-able to explain complex cloud and legacy transformation topics in plain English
