Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Core Services team and play a key role in the development of the backend platform supporting a major website launch. This engineer will help design, build, and maintain scalable APIs, microservices, and backend services that power critical customer-facing experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using TypeScript andNestJS
• Build and enhance APIs, endpoints, and microservices that support high-traffic web applications
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of core platform services
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering leaders, and frontend teams to deliver reliable solutions
• Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting strategies using modern production-grade tooling
• Troubleshoot performance issues and production incidents while continuously improving system reliability
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate productivity and improve code quality
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning sessions
• Help establish engineering best practices across development, testing, deployment, and operations, * Building scalable, maintainable APIs and microservices that serve as the foundation of the platform
• Contributing technical leadership and best practices across the engineering organization
• Partnering effectively with both local stakeholders and remote development teams
• Helping improve system observability, reliability, and overall developer productivity

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (mid-level) or 7+ years (senior-level)
• Strong backend development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience building applications using Node or Nest
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices
• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud-hosted environments
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as:
• Datadog
• Sentry
• New Relic
• Grafana
• Similar production support tools
• Experience working within modern CI/CD and software delivery practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently drive solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NestJS
• Startup or high-growth company experience
• Experience supporting customer-facing web platforms at scale
• Familiarity with Vercel or other modern cloud hosting platforms
• Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies
• Experience working with distributed or international engineering teams
