Computer Applications Trainer (R26-43)

Under the direction of the Department Manager or designee, position supports the deployment and use of CONNECTIONS, a New York State (NYS) child welfare proprietary application, in state, local government, and social service agencies throughout NYS by delivering instructor-led classroom-based and virtual classroom technology training. Duties include, but are not limited to:

? Travel within NYS and train new and experienced child welfare workers on the use of the statewide computer system in online, web-based, and lab-based settings. ? Provide post-classroom support and technical assistance to users in local district offices and voluntary agencies. ? Maintain a working knowledge of system functionality as it is updated and modified. ? Complete required reports and documentation as needed. ? Assist in the development and revision of training materials, including content development, editing, proofreading, formatting, and document organization.

• Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
• A minimum of two years’ full-time experience in technology-related training or training support experience for adult learners.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated proficiency with English language grammar/usage.
• Ability to learn new software products and operating systems quickly.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work with a team, manages multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

• Experience working in NYS Child Welfare or using the CONNECTIONS application.
• Experience using synchronous online training platforms such as Webex or Teams to deliver training.
• Experience developing, testing, or editing training materials.
